A.O.史密斯（中国）热水器有限公司是1998年投资成立的位于南京经济技术开发区的美商独资公司。2005年3月在南京建立了全球工程研发中心，2006年7月继续增资的二期厂房已在南京落成投产，现总投资额达4740万美元 。近年来，A.O.史密斯每年销售额以25%以上的速度增长，热水器产品覆盖了全国市场，A.O.史密斯在全国热水器市场零售额已稳居前两位。目前中国工厂热水器产品已远销美国、韩国、荷兰、新西兰、巴西、中东等数十个国家。
A. O. Smith (China) Water Heater Co., Ltd., a US-funded enterprise, was established in Nanjing Economic Technology and Development Zone in 1998. A. O. Smith established its Global Engineering Center in Nanjing in March, 2005. Second Phase Expansion Project completed in Nanjing in Jul. 2006, and till now the investment has been reached USD 47.4 million. In the recent years, A. O. Smith achieved sales growth over 25% every year, with its products covering the whole China market. In 2008 A. O. Smith ranked top two in China’s water heater retail market. Right now, products made in China plant have been sold to countries like US, Korea, Holland, New Zealand, Brazil, and Middle East, etc..

A. O. Smith Global Engineering Center was established in March 2005, and it is one of the three A. O. Smith Global Engineering Centers. Its core function is to provide technical support to product R&D, technology application and Project service for Chinese and global customers. The new completed A. O. Smith Global Engineering Center is 43,000 square inches with two labs of 7,500 square inches, equipped with leading computer processing testing equipment, including patent test-bed for inspecting water heater performance and high speed broad band data transfer capacity, sharing experiment data with US engineers. Now, this center continues product test and analysis 24 hour together with US engineers, which is quite competitive for A. O. Smith to provide speed and high efficient service to its customer.
